I just switched from a very heavily used Jardine to a Sportster muffler. No conplaints with the Jardine except the appearance (bluing and rust)plus, I like to experiment. I tried the Sportster as is and liked it better than stock, but thought it was a bit quiet (although deep in tone). I did not have a drill bit long enough and was to impatient to wait until I could get one, so I punched a hole in the baffle using a very long screw driver and a hammer. The sound improved, so I drove the screw driver in deeper to enlarge the hole. I'm still determining if I like it as is, or maybe went too far. If I went too far, I'm going to repeat the process with the other pipe, (a buddy gave me two off his bike) only stop before the hole gets too large.

I would like the Sportster solution better if the connection jogged outward like the stock or Jardine does. Mounted straight on the pipe, the outlet is pointing more or less at the rear wheel instead of straight back. Has anyone else adjusted for this or experienced any problem with using the Sportster pipe as described?
